I. WHERE ARE YOU FROM ? :D’où venez-vous ?

– je suis originaire de Belgique : I come from Belguim originally/I’m originally from Belguim

– je viens de Kinshasa: I come/I’m from Kinshasa

II. WHERE WERE YOU BORN?: où êtes-vous né?

– je suis né à Kolwezi : I was born in Kolwezi.

– je suis né à Lubumbashi, et j’habite Kinshasa depuis l’âge de 17 ans : I was born in Lubumbashi and I have lived in kinshasa.

– je suis né à Likasi les 6 mars 1982 : I was born in Likasi on March 6th 1982.

– je suis né à kapolowe-Mission, où réside ma famille : I was born in kopolowe-Mission, where my family still lives.

– je suis né à une époque et dans un pays où l’on n’a pas d’occasions directes de penser au malheur ni à la guerre : I was born at a time when, and in a place where, there has been no direct reason for thinking or war and calamity.

III. WHERE DID YOU LIVE?/WHERE DO YOU LIVE NOW?: Où aviez-vous vécu?/ où habitez-vous maintenant?

– je vis/j’habite à Londres : I live in London

– j’ai vécu pendant 10 ans/ j’ai vécu 10 ans : I lived there for ten years/I lived there ten years.

– j’ai vis/ j’habite en France depuis l’âge de 9 ans : I’ve lived in France since the âge of 9/I’ve been living in France since I was 9 years old.

– j’ai vis/ j’habite à Kisangani depuis le début de cette année: I’ve lived in Kisangani since the beginning of this year

– je vais immigrer au Canada à la fin de l’hiver : I’m going to emigrate to Canada at the end of the winter.
